Prepare the new season with DiR Nutrition

September is the best time to incorporate effective changes in your diet that allow you to achieve the results you are looking for

In September for many people it is the return to the routine, recovering the habits of a summer that surely has brought us great moments, a little trip and, there is no denying it, a few extra pounds that we would like to make disappear from quick way. Be careful because unhealthy and ineffective formulas can have unwanted effects.

In this sense, the DiR Nutrition department has the effective solution to achieve the results you are looking for, whether it is to achieve your weight, health or sports performance goals, such as increasing your muscle mass or defining your muscles. All this, of course, without suffering the devastating consequences of miraculous diets: starving, losing health, vitality, etc.

Here we tell you what the nutritional advice offered by the Nutrition service of the DiR Clubs is about:

What is nutritional counseling?

We all have a picture in mind of what we would like to achieve: lose fat and tone the body, increase strength and performance, improve health, etc. If you’ve been pursuing your goal for a long time and it’s struggling to see results, nutritional counseling is the perfect opportunity to clearly identify this desire and see how diet helps make it come true. How do we get it? Answering two questions:

Do your eating habits help you reach your goal?

It is very common that due to lack of time, organization or simply due to misinformation, our food decisions are sabotaging our objective. Maybe you spread meals improperly throughout the day, don’t take into account the specific nutritional needs of your body (especially in relation to training) or don’t include food groups in the right amount and proportion. All this makes the effort that you dedicate to achieve satisfactory results through physical activity, lose effectiveness and finally end in demotivation. Therefore, it is essential, once we are clear about what we want to achieve, to know what has been holding us back so far.

What does your body composition tell us about your diet?

Weight is an indicator of our physical and health condition, but ultimately, it is not everything. In nutritional counseling we want to know what the starting point is in the most objective way possible. Therefore, we evaluate not only your weight but how it is distributed in different types of tissues: fat, visceral fat, muscle, bone mass, water, etc. In this way we can have a notion of what the current state of your metabolism is and know what needs to be worked through food.

A lack of muscle mass and an excess of fat (especially visceral), indicates that the quality of the diet is not adequate. In these cases, a nutritional intervention combined with physical exercise promotes a reduction in the percentage of fat and an increase in muscle mass. Muscle tissue is much more compact than greasy tissue and therefore the most visible result is a reduction in body volume and muscle definition. An increase in muscle mass, however, not only has benefits at the image level but also contributes to maintaining good bone health and metabolism (as it is a very hormonally and energetically active tissue).

Through the analysis of your body composition, we can also detect fluid retention problems associated with a nutritional imbalance: for example, a high consumption of sodium (processed, precooked, canned products, etc.) or a deficiency of potassium ( fruits and vegetables mainly).

Once we are clear about where we want to go, the weak points of our eating routine and our current physical condition, it is time to propose a change in habits. We know that changes are not easy, but they are worth it in the future. From the DiR Nutrition service we want to help you achieve your goals.
